This is the Canadian Coast Guard Weather report for 0400 hr for the next 24 hrs. Solander Island 10-15 knot winds, 1.3 metre swells. Next report filed at 1600 hr.
Ken, whats the wind metre say? "30 gusting 35 knots, 2-3 metre swells confused seas."
Ken, look! Two 50 foot Humpback whales coming at us. They are real close to port. They don't seem to mind the confused seas. Always a missed photo op. I can't hold the camera still and hold on to the boat.
This is the Canadian Coast Guard Weather report for 1600 hr for the next 24 hrs. Solander Island. Gale force winds 41 knots,, 2-3.5 metre wind and wave height swells. Confused seas.
Ken they seemed to catch up with the correct information 12 hrs late.
The freezer flew open spilling all its contents, a little salt water in the forward berth from the port hole. A few things left on the counter on the floor. The top of the smoker went flying leaving black soot all over the outside decks. Overall great. Things have their places. A few adjustments needed like straps on the freezer, but overall we are happy.
The weather has been like winter. The furnace is being used. We are in a low pressure system of 957 mb - layman terms (shitty). Staying put until the system changes. We will let the whales have the water.
We have now entered a high system and the sun is shining. We are headed out today to Dixie Cove further up the inlet where we plan to fish all day. There promises to be fish on the menu tonight!
We are traveling with 2 boats from Calgary and have met up with many others doing the circumnavigation. We have a Christmas in July planned for Jul 01. Turkey and all. It looks to be a fun time.
We are safe and cautious. Until next Indian Reserve
